Description

With just your hands and a little imagination, turn a simple ball of clay into your very first handmade pot! Pinch, press, and shape the clay into bowls, cups, or even wobbly little treasures, each one as unique as you are!

In this fun, hands-on workshop, children will learn the ancient pinch pot technique, one of the easiest and most playful ways to shape clay. With just their hands and imagination, they’ll transform clay into small bowls, cups, or imaginative little treasures.

 

What We’ll Cover
Introduction to clay and its possibilities
Step-by-step guidance in the pinch pot technique
Exploring shapes: bowls, cups, or imaginative forms
Adding textures, decorations, and personal touches

Good to Know

Age group: 6-9 years

Experience: No prior experience required

Group size: Maximum 8 participants

What to wear: Clothing that can get messy (aprons provided) and closed-toe shoes

Included: All tools and materials.
Parental consent is required at booking, and parents are welcome to stay during the session.

Outcome: Each child will create a handmade piece that will be bisque fired at 960 °C, then coated with a transparent stoneware glaze and high fired at 1200 °C for a food-safe, waterproof, and durable finish.

Finished pots will be ready for pickup approximately 2–4 weeks after the workshop.

 

This workshop is limited to a maximum of 8 participants to ensure an intimate and focused experience. A minimum of 4 participants is required for the session to take place. If fewer than 4 bookings are received, the workshop will be canceled and your booking will be automatically rolled over to the next available date.
